Call for applicants: Postdoctoral fellowship for the research of
trends, changes and new directions in the insurance and finance sector
Personal 100,000 NIS postdoctoral scholarship for one calendar year, with an additional 50,000 NIS stipend for direct research costs
Provision of the scholarship is conditional upon the researcher working full time during the postdoctoral track.
We invite candidates with a PhD to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship consisting of a one year project (from March 2013-February 2014) that will be carried out in the research unit of the School of Business Administration at the College of Management – Academic Studies in cooperation with the Long-Term Savings Division of Migdal.
As part of the postdoctoral track, the fellow will conduct comprehensive scientific and applied research on trends, changes and new directions in the insurance and finance sector in Israel generally, with a specific emphasis on long term savings (such as: financial and insurance needs among disadvantaged populations in Israel; the effectiveness and distribution models of insurance and long term savings products). These subjects will be part of interdisciplinary research in the areas of finance, social sciences, behavioural science, and the field of corporate-social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability.
Scientific guidance for the fellow and project will be provided by Professor Tal Shavit, Associate Dean of the School of Business Administration and senior research staff of the School’s research unit. Professional guidance in the field of sustainability and corporate responsibility will be provided by the staff of the Center for Corporate Responsibility at the School of Business Administration under the direction of Brigadier General (Res.) Amira Dotan. Professional guidance in the field of long-term savings will be provided by experts from Migdal, led by the manager of the long-term savings division.
The 150,000 NIS scholarship, which includes a 100,000 NIS stipend for living expenses for one calendar year and a 50,000 NIS research budget, is intended for researchers who have completed a PhD from a recognized academic institution in the last 7 years. The expertise of the researcher can be from a wide range of fields, but the applicant must have a deep background in research, which will serve as the basis for research in this field. Additionally the applicant must be proficient in the English language and be able to write research in English in order to be published in international scientific journals.
